Miami Cancer Institute Campaign Rolls Out first 2 of 8 Executions.

Well after a long wait and much anticipation the Miami Cancer Institute has finally begun to roll out it’s ad campaign shot by Pete Barrett last summer.   Shown here are the first two in a series of eight ads which Pete and his team created for MCI working in close collaboration with Republica Advertising and Cortez Brothers Productions.  All post production and retouching of the images was done by Pete Barrett.  Pete also worked closely in collaboration with Saddington & Baynes out of London to create and later incorporate the CGI letter “C” element that is a recurring prop in all of the ads.

This was a great shoot that involved a fairly complex production, something that Pete is very well versed in.  Working closely with Cortez Brothers Productions (who was also producing a series of TV spots for the client),   Pete and his team of roughly 25-30 people shot 8 different executions of final images that involved combining lifestyle shots of people in an environment with a large 3 dimensional letter “C” also in the shot which would be created digitally in a CGI environment.  This required shooting many elements to be layered and retouched into the image in post as well as capturing lighting, shadowing and size & dimension measurement info that would later be used in the creation of the 3D – CGI letter “C” element made by Saddington and Baynes ensuring that it would look like it was actually physically there in the space.   Still to come are 6 more ads which we cannot disclose at this time as they have yet to be released to the public but as soon as they hit the streets we will post an update.   Stay tuned!!

Flashes of Hope

logo-1I was recently asked to shoot for a really good cause for a program called “Flashes of Hope”     This is a program where photographers donate their time and services to photograph young cancer pediatric patients and their families to help in the fight against childhood cancer.     It is a fantastic program that raises money for cancer research for kids and also gives the kids and their parents a nice experience of being a star for a day and the parents receive a lasting memory of their child to cherish.    Special thanks go to my assistant Abdiel Thorne and my make up artist Candace Wessinger who also generously donated their time for such a worthy cause.

Microsoft In Education global print campaign – #1

We recently had the opportunity to shoot the “Microsoft In Education” global print campaign.    It was an awesome gig which had us creating 45 shots over the course of a fast paced 3 day shoot.   Talent on the shoot ranged from young grade school kids up through collegiate age students and teachers.   All in all the production from casting,  scouting, prepro,  shoot and post lasted just over 2 & 1/2 weeks.   The Microsoft in Education program is a program that gives computers and software technology to schools around the world so that students of all ages can learn and grow.    Working with an awesome team we were able to create a large amount of quality images in a short amount of time.    Thanks go to our awesome clients at Microsoft,  NHS and FCB.    I wish all clients were as great to work with!   Also could not have done it without my amazing crew!    Here are a few of the first shots of some of the older students.    More to come…..

Traveler’s Takes the Scary out of Life.

ESPN Traveler's AdSo we recently had the opportunity to work with SapientNitro on a great job for Traveler’s Insurance. The job required shooting a guy from “the other team” pulling into a parking lot full of a sea of “home team” cars. Being the only person from “the other team” can be somewhat disconcerting to say the least. This tied in perfectly with Traveler’s tag line which is “Travelers takes the scary out of Life”.

Logistically this job was very complex. How do you get control and ability to prop an entire parking lot full of cars, fill it with fans and shoot a generic large stadium? Click more to read on… Continue reading

LeBron James – Home Court

So what does LeBron do when he is not on the basketball court or creating a media frenzy? He sells children’s furniture! We recently teamed up with Mullen to produce a series of ads for Home Court by LeBron James. Here are the first two ads from the LeBron James Home Court shoot we did.

They also shot a great commercial to go along with the campaign. Check it out here on Brad Stephens’ website (Brad is the incredibly talented Art Director who hired us) http://www.iambrad.com/HC_1.html

King James!

Here are two of my Favorites from a recent shoot with LeBron James.    He was extremely cool to work with.   Open to suggestions,  took direction well and gave us plenty of time to get it done right.   Thanks LeBron!   Also special thanks to my crew who put in long hours while we waited for LeBron’s plane to land.

PDN “Tech – E Project” Feature Article

Well February is on it’s way out and March is coming in with a bang. I was honored to receive another feature article in PDN in this month’s March issue. They did a 3 page article in their “Tech – E Projects” on the work we did for Turkel Advertising for the current Campaign for The Miami Conventions and Visitor Bureau (MiamiCVB -Tourism).

We’ve been getting some good PR lately in PDN, with winning 1st Place in the Advertising category in the Digital PIX contest, then a small “Behind the Lens” Feature in the following month’s issue (both for the AT&T work we did with BBDO). I’m going to have to send some cookies as a thank you! :- )
